wild-woman yoga + wellness

The Journey

Francine Deparnay (aka Wild Woman) completed her first yoga teacher training in 2017 following the ashtanga yoga lineage when she completed her RYT200 in Mississauga, Ontario through LifePower Yoga. Having falling in love with yoga many years before ever making it to a yoga mat, she was hooked at her first class. After some experimentation with various styles of yoga, she started a dedicated power vinyasa practice in 2013 which quickly evolved to include other styles of yoga.

With a desire to continually deepen her practice further, Francine has completed a number of international and domestic yoga teacher trainings since graduating her 200 hour training through Happy Jack Yoga. In pursuit of her 500 hour certificate, in 2019, she travelled to the Parmarth Niketan Ashram set on the bank of the Holy Ganges river in Rishikesh, India - the birthplace of yoga - to study yoga, pranayama (Breathwork), meditation, mantras, mudras and the ancient science of Ayurveda! Francine completed her 10 hour Ayurveda certification under Dr. Harsh Agrawal while in India as part of her 100 hour Spirituality Immersion certification.

Later that same year Francine went on to complete her 50 hour Yin Immersion in Bracebridge, Ontario and a 100 hour Abundance Immersion literally right on the beautiful beaches at the Maya Tulum Resort & Spa - a seaside yoga retreat centre in Tulum, Mexico. She is hopeful about graduating her RYT500 with Happy Jack in The Scared Valley in Urubamba Peru, which was initially planed for September 2020. Francine has completed a total of 450 hours of formal yoga training to date. Francine is a member of Yoga Alliance and currently maintains a RYT200 designation.

Francine's yoga students are calmed by her soothing voice during a relaxing but often challenging yin practice and empowered to their find and play their edge through the power that is also channelled through Francine's voice as she guides her students through more active hatha and power yinyasa style yoga classes. Francine's teaching style focuses on breath, alignment and mind-body-spirit connection.

Francine also received her Usui Reiki Healer and QRA Practitioner certifications in 2018.

Francine's greatest lessons have been that 'your pain is your purpose' and that 'it is through healing yourself that you heal the world'.
